Welcome to our little slice of Up North living!

We purchased and rehabbed Hiawatha Creek in 2021 to create a modern, comfortable and relaxing place to gather with family and friends. As you may have noticed, we’ve blended modern elements with some classic lakehouse feeling. If you haven’t noticed, that’s cool too…it’s what’s outside that is really the star of the show anyways.

Here is some information about the house that you may find helpful during your stay:

Fun, Games and Entertainment: Should you find yourself inside for some reason, we’ve stocked the camp with a bunch of board games, a few books, cable & Roku TV and internet. Please feel free to log in to any streaming services, but remember to log out before you leave… lest your recommended shows get all buggered up by the next guests!

Heating & Cooling: Hiawatha Creek is equipped with central heat and a pair of window units for cooling. The thermostat by the door to the sunroom controls the furnace, while the thermostat by the kitchen controls the fireplace. The fireplace has a blower on it to kick out heat that must be plugged into the wall outlet. Please remember to turn the fireplace off when not in use, or else you may turn the lake house into a smoke house!

Washer and Dryer: In the closet in the entranceway, you will find a stacked washer and dryer for your convenience. Detergent and dryer sheets are located on top of the stack. When possible, please use shorter cycles to help conserve water.

Dishwasher: Washing dishes and vacation don't mix! There is dishwashing soap beneath the sink for your convenience.

Bedding: All of the beds should be outfitted with comfortable bedding, including down alternative comforters and quiltlets. If you are using the fold out couch in the sunroom you will find extra bedding stored under the seat. Instructions for how to access and fold out can be found here. Instructions for how to deal with not being able to figure out those instructions can be found here.

Trash Removal: There is a large trash bin near the garage for refuse. Please make sure the cover closes and you do not leave bags outside overnight. It is the great outdoors, after all, and you know… bears…

Trash removal is on Monday, so if your stay is through a Monday, please roll the cart to the curb in the morning.

TP, PT, Trash bags, Cleaning supplies, Vacuum: The closet next to the sunroom should be stocked with a variety of necessities, including toilet paper, paper towel and trash bags, as well as cleaning supplies. If any essentials are missing, please contact the property manager. There is a vacuum in the bedroom closet, should you feel the need to use it. Nothing says “vacation” like a good round of vacuuming, right? Ok, let’s hope your stay doesn’t include cleaning supplies or a vacuum… but if you need it, it’s there!
